Swiis Scotland’s West team had their usual busy schedule throughout the Easter break for young people to enjoy.

A busy Easter of events for our young people

It began with an adrenaline filled day for 24 young people at the West Teams’ Easter Fun Day held at Playsport in East Kilbride. Young people enjoyed a range of activities including Soft Play, BMX, Skateboarding, Arts and Crafts and a climbing wall.

Following this, a ‘Meet and Play Day’ at Jungle Creek Crazy Golf was arranged. Staff were on hand to play along too, giving the carers a chance for a catch up with each other.

On 10 April, a ‘Teen Pamper Day’ for young women was well attended. Hair, nails and make-up were all on offer with the chance for the teens to chat about issues and topics that are important to them. We are hoping to continue this group throughout the year.

Tuesday found the Swiis team spending a rather cold and windy day at the Museum of Rural Life in East Kilbride. The weather did not dampen our spirits however and the young people enjoyed a trip on a tractor, as well as seeing new-born lambs, calf’s piglets and chickens. Afterwards, ink print making was the plan for the afternoon as well as a trip to the park – fun was had by all!

Finally, our ever popular magazine group had another meeting on 13 April to work on the next edition. Young people worked hard to ensure the magazine would be full of interesting and relevant articles for readers! Watch this space!
