We had a fantastic time over Easter in Fife when we took 12 young people for a fun, healthy and active day out at Craigtoun Park.

Craigtoun Park Easter trip

En route to the park, the young people got on well with each other and chatted away. Of course, there was the usual ‘are we there yet?’ every couple of miles!

On arriving at the park, the young people headed straight for the zip wire. A member of staff bought tickets for everyone so that they could go on any of the rides or boats. All the young people, staff and carers were given a ticket and told they had to be back at the meeting point for 2.30pm, helping them to develop their sense of personal responsibility.

After lunch, some of the young people wanted to go on the pedalos. You had to be 14 years old to ride, so some of the children were accompanied by members of staff.

They also went on the steam train, as well as the trampolines and bikes in the play area. Some also enjoyed playing golf and jumping on bouncy castles. When it was time to leave, we all met up so that everyone could have one last go on the zip wire.

All the young people seemed to have a good time on the trip, getting on well together through the day. Even the ones that arrived in the morning who had said that they could have been in bed rather than being on the day out eventually admitted they enjoyed the day!
