Our Swiis Glasgow office entertained a number of young people over the summer holidays with some active and sociable events. These days help to support positive outcomes and are integral to the wellbeing of our young people.

Laser tag and giant horses!

The first day out saw young people and Swiis staff meet at The Experience in Glasgow for a frantic game of laser tag. Everyone spent time to get to know each another first, and then left to get started. Two of the young people had never been before and were really excited about the day ahead.

All the young people were very competitive, working together in teams to achieve the best score. After the first game, everyone needed a short rest and then changed teams before entering for the 2nd game. The young people had figured out where the good hiding places were and played at a faster pace. By the end of the game, everyone was tired from all the running about – especially the Swiis staff! All the young people said they loved it – especially those who hadn’t been before – and said they would love to come back.

Our second day out involved a group of us going to The Helix in Falkirk. We also had a new foster carer joining us and helping out – they were very excited to meet everyone!

The young people spent the first part of their day walking around The Kelpies – two giant horse sculptures – and then took part in a quiz. After this, they had fun playing in Helix park and having a picnic lunch. The weather brightened up in the afternoon which allowed everyone to enjoy some time on the pedal boats.

Everyone had some great days out and many new friendships were made!
