Last summer we achieved Investors in Young People status. In recognition of this Annabelle Ewing, Minister for Youth & Women’s Employment, has written to congratulate us on this achievement! In her letter (15.12.15) Annabelle writes:
“I would just like to offer my congratulations on Swiis Foster Care Scotland achieving the new Investors in Young People accreditation.
Clearly, you recognise the benefits of recruiting and developing young people – that is not just the right thing to do; it is the smart thing to do. This is the message that the Scottish Government takes every opportunity to promote to employers across Scotland.
Employers have a crucial role to play in supporting youth employment and the new Investors in Young People framework and accolade offers help and recognition and will encourage more employers to do that.
I greatly appreciate the investment of time and effort that your organisation makes, not only to give young people a range of employment and training opportunities but also to maintain strong links with colleges and universities to make their young people aware of career opportunities.
Congratulations again on this richly deserved recognition of Swiis Foster care Scotland’s commitment to introducing young people to the world of work.
Yours sincerely,
Annabelle Ewing”
Many thanks to Annabelle Ewing for her kind words.
