Five children and three staff from Swiis Foster Care Glasgow enjoyed a fun packed visit to the Museum of Rural Life during our summer activities.

The National Museum of Rural Life, previously known as the Museum of Scottish Country Life, is based at Wester Kittochside farm, lying between the town of East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire and the village of Carmunnock in Glasgow.

Our day began in the museum where the staff and children used interactive learning equipment to understand more about the farm and animals. We then got aboard the tractor and headed to the farm to see the animals including chickens, pigs and piglets, sheep, calves and horses. The children (and staff!) really enjoyed petting and playing with the lively calves.

Later we headed down to the museum and tried making a ‘Bug Hotel’ which was thoroughly enjoyed! After this it was then time to play in the park in the sunshine – a great day was had by all!
