Swiis Foster Carers

Changing the lives of children and young people for the better

Foster carer reading to young person

From school teachers in Glasgow to single parents in Fife, our foster carers come from all walks of life. One thing they all have in common is a desire to make a difference to a child’s life. We may be biased, but we think our Swiis foster carers are pretty inspirational people.

Audrey

“I became a foster carer with Swiis six years ago after I watched my daughter foster with Swiis. I felt a bit jealous of the bond she had with her foster child and thought, I can make a difference too.”

“What children care about the most isn’t materialistic things. It’s them knowing that somebody’s going to be there at the end of the day to pick them up from school, feeling cared for and loved, knowing they belong, that’s what’s important to children in care.” Conrad was inspired to become a foster carer after working as a panel member and coming in contact with children in the care system. Seeing those same children he met after placement and seeing the tremendous visible change within such a short period, made enough of an impact on him, to call up an enquire about becoming a foster carer.

“It’s lovely hearing that our foster children really appreciate what you do for them and they tell us they know they would never have had these opportunities if it wasn’t for us.”

“Seeing how safe and happy they all feel in our home is fantastic.” Michael witnessed first-hand the incredible difference foster care can make to a child when his mother fostered throughout his childhood and he wanted to continue her good work.
